Meteorologists issued a special advisory after detecting a strong line of rain and winds headed to Broward County and parts of Miami-Dade.
The advisory is in effect until 11:15 a.m. as the line of rain, coupled with strong winds,moves east across the state at 60 mph.
In Miami-Dade, sections of Aventura, Carol City, Coconut Grove and surrounding communities will be impacted by the storm.
In Broward, the brunt of the storm will be felt in Parkland, Coconut Creek and Lighthouse Point.
The primary impact will be gusty winds of 45 to 55 mph. The winds are strong enough to down small tree limbs and branches.
