In the deadliest day on South Florida streets and highways in recent memory, 10 people and an unborn baby were killed in vehicle-related accidents in the 24-hour period from late Saturday to Sunday night.
The deadliest of the crashes left four people dead in a fiery head-on collision on the Gratigny Expressway in Northwest Miami-Dade early Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez.
Crashes in Broward killed a woman who was seven months pregnant, a 5-year-old girl who was run over as she played outside her home in a toy car, an elderly churchgoer and a 14-year-old skateboarder.
