The 37th Annual Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular curated by Usher, with performances by Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez.

The show starts at 8pm EST and will first have the artists performances and after that, the greatest fireworks display in America. More that 40,000 fireworks will light up the sky, synchronized to a 25-minute, hand-picked score. You won’t want to miss this.

The fireworks show can be seen from any are with an unobstructed view of the sky above the Hudson River. There are four badges  positioned in the Hudson River between 24th street and 42nd street. For the best spots, head to the 12th avenue below 59th street at the following access points along  11th avenue.

Macy’s says you won’t want to miss the lights show during the last 5 minutes of the fireworks finale if you’re near the Empire State Building.

Parking will not be available in the area, so it is recommended to leave your cars at home. NYC transit will run increased Subway service before, and after the fireworks. Bus service near the fireworks will be rerouted, with extra trips available after the event.

Helicopter Lands In New York’s Hudson River

Authorities of NYPD reported a helicopter that carried four Swedish tourists landed in the Hudson River Sunday afternoon, near 79th Street. Everyone have been rescued at this hour.

Passengers and pilot were immediately taken to the shore. The helicopter remains upright.

Among the victims, there were 2 children. All the occupants were transported to the 79th Street Boat Basin via Jet Ski.

One World Trade Center to Become Tallest Building in Western Hemisphere

Our favorite building, One World Trade Center is set to reach another milestone Monday, April 19 becoming the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.

The final two sections of the 408-foot spire are set to be raised by constructors tomorrow Monday. The stainless steel spire will give the building its iconic height of 1,776 feet, the year of U.S. independence.

One World Trade Center became New York’s tallest building in April 2012.

Amtrak Derailment In Connecticut Causes Suspension Of Service In The Tri-State

Amtrak service has been suspended in the busy New York-Boston corridor due to a derailment in New Haven, Connecticut.

New York – Washington service has not been suspended, making the Springfield, Massachusetts shuttle operate as scheduled.

Passengers who opt to not travel due to the service interruption will receive a full refund or another trip voucher. Go to Amtrak.com or use the Amtrak Mobile App to modify or cancel your tickets.

New York: MTA Bus Driver Passes Out; Passenger Grabs Wheel

MTA bus crashed into several parked cars after driver apparently passed out and a passenger grabbed the wheel and hit the brakes.

The situation happened at around 7:05pm at Madison Ave. and 85th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

It is believed that 23 people were evaluated for injuries and other 3 were taken to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition.

Empire State Building’s First Ever Light Show Stars Alicia Keys

The Empire State Building will put on its first ever lights show Monday night to show off its new LED lightning system with music performed by Alicia Keys.

Phillips Color Kinetics created the new LED Lights system and Alicia will perform her songs ‘Girl On Fire’ and the popular ‘Empire State of Mind’ while a light display is showcased on the top of the building.

The performance and light up will take place at 9:-00pm EST on Monday and will also air on several Clear Channel Communications radio stations such as WHTZ-Z100, 103.5 KTU and 106.7 Lite FM so New Yorkers can have a view of the Empire State while listening to Alicia Keys in real time. If not in the Tri-State area, you can view and listen via iheartradio.com.
