Wintry Mix Hits New York Area

A Winter Storm Warning is currently in effect for the New York City area, as a system of wintry mix of precipitation is moving east. Snow accumulations will be less in the south.

Northern New Jersey is likely to get more than hakf-foot of snow.

New York City Schools are open, and so are their after-school programs, but field trips have been canceled.

Drivers are being warned to be extra cautious and leave extra time. Alternate side parking regulations have been suspended for snow removal Monday.

Mayor Bill De Blasio issued a severe weather warning and hazardous travel advisory for Monday.

Long Island Railroad, Metro-North, MTA, working on normal weekday schedule as extra crews are keeping platforms clear of snow and ice.

It is advised for riders to take extra time for morning and evening commutes.

The Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Curated By Usher, With Performances By Mariah Carey & Tim McGraw

The 37th Annual Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular curated by Usher, with performances by Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez.

The show starts at 8pm EST and will first have the artists performances and after that, the greatest fireworks display in America. More that 40,000 fireworks will light up the sky, synchronized to a 25-minute, hand-picked score. You won’t want to miss this.

The fireworks show can be seen from any are with an unobstructed view of the sky above the Hudson River. There are four badges  positioned in the Hudson River between 24th street and 42nd street. For the best spots, head to the 12th avenue below 59th street at the following access points along  11th avenue.

Macy’s says you won’t want to miss the lights show during the last 5 minutes of the fireworks finale if you’re near the Empire State Building.

Parking will not be available in the area, so it is recommended to leave your cars at home. NYC transit will run increased Subway service before, and after the fireworks. Bus service near the fireworks will be rerouted, with extra trips available after the event.

Empire State Building’s First Ever Light Show Stars Alicia Keys

The Empire State Building will put on its first ever lights show Monday night to show off its new LED lightning system with music performed by Alicia Keys.

Phillips Color Kinetics created the new LED Lights system and Alicia will perform her songs ‘Girl On Fire’ and the popular ‘Empire State of Mind’ while a light display is showcased on the top of the building.

The performance and light up will take place at 9:-00pm EST on Monday and will also air on several Clear Channel Communications radio stations such as WHTZ-Z100, 103.5 KTU and 106.7 Lite FM so New Yorkers can have a view of the Empire State while listening to Alicia Keys in real time. If not in the Tri-State area, you can view and listen via iheartradio.com.

NYC On Track To Become The Digital Capital Of The World

With new social media channels, a booming tech sector, and a plan to become the world’s leading digital city, NYC is embracing technology in more ways than ever before.

The Cross Section of the World, Times Square
